Improving Lives Through Better Sleep

About Flourish Therapy

Dedicated to Your Sleep and Wellbeing

" I dread going to bed"      " I worry about not sleeping"      "Bad sleep is ruining my life"

" I am frightened that I won't ever sleep well again"

" I've stopped doing things I enjoy because of my sleep"

These are statements I regularly hear from those that I work with, and that is why I established Flourish Therapy. I want to help individuals improve their sleep and get the most out of life. Through my work in a range of settings including an NHS sleep clinic, a private clinic and my own experiences, I understand the impact that poor sleep can have on your daily life, mental health and overall wellbeing. I have seen and heard from many patients the debilitating effect sleep problems can have; and I have celebrated with them when they have overcome their difficulties, to enjoy better sleep and have a new zest for life. That's why I offer holistic sleep therapy services tailored to address your unique needs and concerns.

My Training and experience

Along with my years of NHS experience, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. I have completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia (CBTi) with the University of Oxford, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression with the Royal College of Psychiatry and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Dr Russ Harris. More recently, I successfully completed post-graduate study in behaviour change with the University of Derby.

I am registered with the health and care professions council (HCPC) who monitor and support my ongoing professional development and ensure I am working to the required  professional standards. I am also a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists. During my career, I have designed and delivered a wellbeing program including sleep support for patients with long term conditions such as cancer and pancreatitis. This led to me writing a chapter for a text book which was published in August 2023.

Other conditions linked with sleep problems

I have worked regularly with those experiencing a range of mental health conditions as well as chronic fatigue and Fibromyalgia to name but a few. I understand the difficulties experienced, when sleep problems are part of a more complex health history, and will always work at your pace and in line with your priorities. I frequently work with those diagnosed with ADHD and ASD, as sleep difficulties are often present and closely linked with the behaviours and experiences of those with neurodiversity.

With the increased awareness of Menopause and its impact on sleep, I have provided talks, advice and support to women to help them navigate this stage of life. Following the success of my first not for profit Living Well event in March 2023, I am offering another  in-person event on 12th October that will focus on women in midlife and Menopause.
